Monthly Archives: January 2010

Late last year I lectured to 2nd year Fashion Students at Nottingham Trent University (www.ntu.ac.uk), the subject ‘What makes a brand British?’ using CHERCHBI as an example. Later the same day I was introduced to Alison Goodrum, a research fellow at the University who explained the idea behind the Fields of Fashion research cluster and interviewed me for their archive (see below).

Elements of this project really strike a chord with me, the broad area of ‘rural fashion’ in particular. I’m interested in pushing the boundaries in this area with CHERCHBI, in building multiple layers of reference and inspiration within single products or projects. The ’1571′ Herdwick Cap is a first attempt at this but there’s more in the planning for 2010. I also hope to be involved with the University again later this year.
